Blizzard 2011

For the past few days, every news station has had "BLIZZARD 2011" as their top story. Everyone has been talking about it. The grocery stores were packed yesterday, the schools and businesses everywhere shut down mid-day yesterday and throughout today, and all of Chicagoland was preparing for this great natural wonder that was Blizzard 2011. We were excited to see what we would find when we woke up this morning. Devin spent much of the morning shoveling our long driveway, by our garage, and our 2 sidewalk strips. Let's just say he got his workout for the week! I know he's going tobe sore, because he did A LOT of shoveling, as the pictures will show. Unfortunately, we only have one shovel. That, coupled with our 5 1/2 month old baby that needed supervision, was my ticket that got me out of shoveling this time! It's a hard job to be inside a warm house, while my husband slaves away outside, but somebody has to do it :)
This is the mound Devin made trying to clear the space in front of our garage.
I took this one from inside, he was working on our sidewalk for the mail man.
His mound turned out to be as tall (or taller) than him!

This is looking down our driveway from the garage to the street.
The little path he made for the mail man to get to our doorstep (where our box is).
That is our living room window...
I'm marveling at Devin's work (and also freezing my buns off!)

On a sidenote, Emily is eating some baby food now. Her favorite are the sweet ones like peaches and sweet potatoes. We've been trying to get her to eat peas and green beans the past 2 days. I believe she's eating green beans in this shot. Cutie patootie!

Keep trying the green stuff, she'll catch on to it. PS: If you make au natural foods, she may like it a little more. Definitely more taste than the canned stuff! :-)
