Devin not only had Labor Day off, but Friday as well...making it a 4 day weekend! Emily and I packed a lot into our 4 straight days with dad:
Swimming, volleyball, bocce and burgers on the grill at the lake Thursday night with some of Devin's classmates
Went back to the beach for more swimmin' and grillin' Friday night. So glad we did, because we've been hit with too-cold-to-swim-weather the past 2 days.
Fun family bike ride (LOVE Emily's bike trailer!) Saturday morning followed by hours and hours of college football! The outcomes of 2 of the games could have been different, but it was still so great to have a day of football, without Devin having to study! Devin was the odd ball out wearing his BYU shirt. Get with the program dad!
Trips to the park by our house

Rented movies from the library EVERY NIGHT :)
Evening walks around our neighborhood
Yesterday, Labor Day, was the grand finale:
Early morning family bike ride...

Followed by 2 hours of tennis with our new friends/neighbors, the Wrights. So so so so fun playing doubles! (no pictures though)...
A stroll through downtown for the local art festival. The pieces were incredibly expensive, but it was still amazing to see the talent and creativity that people can express through all forms of art.
Then we used an Olive Garden gift card that we've had for over 2 years! The never ending pasta bowl, salad, soup, and breadsticks were delicious! Unfortunately, our 1 year old was high maintenance the whole time, that Devin and I didn't really get to have a good conversation. He entertained our little bundle of joy while I ate, then the roles would reverse and I had buttercup duty while he shoveled his food down. She is getting 2 of her 1 year molars, which I'm putting blame on for her poor behavior. Poor girl. Pictured below...she wanted to play with the knife so bad, was trying to take it from us several times, and was not happy each time we took it away from her.

We ended our day/weekend by watching our last library movie with a bowl of ice cream. One of my very favorite weekends, just our little family, this summer.
