Emily really loves going to the lake...or in her words..."the wake."
Devin has a 3 day weekend, so last night we kicked it off by going down to the beach for dinner and playing with the sand/play ground. It was fun, but we have got to remember the bug repellent next time. We were eaten alive and our little beach trip was cut much shorter than anticipated.
When we got home, Devin decided to go for a run before it got dark, and he brought back a little surprise for Emily. She was fascinated by a real, live frog. We talk about frogs a lot. They are in some of her books, she has a stuffed animal frog, and she likes making the sound, "riddit, riddit" when we sing Old McDonald. So to see her reaction to a little frog that jumps when she touches it, was priceless. It entertained all 3 of us for a good half hour before bedtime.
