We left Nashville Friday evening, and pulled into St. Louis after 10pm. We had heard good things about St. Louis, but we were blown away by all the history and tourist friendly attractions available to us - FREE OF CHARGE! We paid to go to the top of Gateway Arch, but everything else we did was free. It was great!
Emily really loved the Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. An all you can eat breakfast buffet was included with our room, but we had to wait 20 minutes each morning to be seated. This is where we spent our time waiting. I'm excited to watch Emily enjoy Christmas this year.

The arch was all it's cracked up to be. It was awesome walking right up to it and marveling at the structure, as well as touring the museum about the history of St. Louis; Lewis and Clark's expedition that started in St. Louis. But, obvioulsy the highlight was taking the elevator/pully system contraption up to the top and looking out tiny little windows at the city below.
Emily was absolutely AWFUL our first day in St. Louis. After the arch, we had to retreat back to the hotel and surrender to her nap that we were hoping to skip. After a 1 1/2 hour nap, we were thinking she would be a gem at a few museums before they closed for the day....we were WRONG! Emily hates being restricted or restrained, and our entire trip she was either in her car seat, stroller, or having to hold our hand if we got nice and let her walk around the quiet museums. The St. Louis history museum was definitely the epitome of her meltdown, out of control behavior. We didn't stay long, but we did get to learn more about St. Louis. That night we forfieted out original plans of eating out and getting some St. Louis nightlife culture, and instead ordered a Papa John's pizza, put Emily to bed at 7:30, and watched a few movies in the comfort of our hotel room.
The next day we went to the Old Courthouse, which was the highlight of our stay in St. Louis (equal with the arch). It was amazing learning more about the Dred Scott case and story that all took place there.
On our way out of St. Louis, we drove by the St. Louis temple. It was beautiful, and right off the interstate. We could see it from a few miles away.
