What do we do when Devin isn't on call, and we have a beautiful Saturday in the mid 70's?
BEACH DAY!
This time, before heading straight to the beach, we stopped by a local "Farm" that does not have the traditional farm animals. Instead, they have reptiles and such. We used to go to this farm when we lived in our old town. The last time we went, I was heavily pregnant with Claire (39 weeks)...and now here I am 2 years later, heavily pregnant with baby boy.
Here are a few shots from 2 years ago. Emily is the 2 months younger than Claire is now.
And today...walking the same path, and pregnant in the same season again.
After the farm, we spent the rest of the day/evening at our beloved beach. That place just never gets old! So many memories spent there!
Didn't take long for Claire to throw a shovel of sand up in the air and it land right on her freshly sun-screened face.
For a long time, they had a system going: Emily would fill up the pitchers with water, then come back and pour them on the sand...at which point Claire would pat/roll the fresh wet sand, Emily would watch and then quickly run back down to the water to repeat.
We were feeling lazy in our lawn chairs, and Emily really had to go potty. After telling her over and over that it was ok, just this one time, for her to go sit in the water and "let it go" (we even sang the song to make her feel comfortable with it) Devin finally had to go coach her through it. She was probably so confused and thinking, "They tell me to hold it all day, every day, and to tell them when I have to go....and now they are telling me to do the exact opposite of that??"
After HOURS of play (4 to be exact) it was chow time.
Claire still trying to master her 2 fingers up, while Emily holds her 3s
After dinner, we changed the girls and they played on the playground for another hour before coming back to the fire for some s'mores.
We had such a fantastic day and the girls were so pleasant. I am really loving their ages right now, and feel like we can take them just about anywhere...even without naps...and they will do just fine. So we might as well spice it up again in a month by throwing a newborn into our mix to make it interesting! I can't believe this 3rd baby (and a BOY) is coming in no time. Seriously? Me? A mom of 3?! Life goes so fast, and I am SO BLESSED!
