Aloha!

Devin and I just got back from an amazing trip to Hawaii. It was a very belated honeymoon, but a great excuse to get away, just the two of us, for over 10 days! (That's the longest vacation I've ever been on) We spent 2 1/2 days on Oahu, and 8 days on Maui :) Neither of us had ever been to Maui, so it was really fun to experience it together. We went snorkeling, scuba diving, boogie boarding, drove around the entire island stopping at all the places our guidebook instructed us to, and got seriously spoiled by staying in such a nice place. My dad graciously gave us a week of his timeshare as a wedding gift, and the resort we got was incredible. Again...SERIOUSLY SPOILED ROTTEN! The nicest place we've ever stayed...and ever will stay. THANKS DAD!!

I still haven't figured out how to download one of those slideshow applications, so instead you get to scroll down for a long time to look at all of our post worthy pictures :)

Just arrived in Honolulu, and Devin got our bags.
We stayed in a really ghetto hotel for the 2 nights we were in Honolulu, and this was their remote. For some reason, we got a kick out of it.

Walking to the Diamond Head trail View from the top...all of Waikiki and honolulu

One with our sweaty selves Walking down Polynesian Cultural Center...aka: Devin's biggest desire and request of the whole trip. He LOVED IT!Tahiti women at their finest The Cutural Center had a little place to fish with bamboo sticks...it was hard to break Devin away from this one. Devin's highlight of the night...watching the pig come out of the ground. At our luau
At Pearl Harbor...Devin could not get over this ship and how massive it was. Our bedroom at the resort in Maui
The bathroom
The living room
The kitchen

View from our balcony

Inside of resort...it was all so open inbetween the lobby and pool
They had these huge orange and white fish everywhere....there were so many of them.
Wish that trash can wasn't there, but this was the pool.
We got used to throwing up the hang loose sign (such tourists!)
Our first night in Maui watching the sunset
So pretty
Boat ride to Molokini to go snorkeling
Our guidebook led us to a remote beach that we had to trail walk to get there...we brought our boogie boards and loved it. This local old guy talked ot us in the water, and kept doing the hang loose sign and saying aloha and mahalo over and over...like he was so cool he was a local. We talked about him the rest of our trip.
Here we are
One of our favorite nights in Lahaina. We thought it would be fun to get pictures of us hula dancing. How cute is Devin?
I had to have my turn too.
LOVE HIM!
Walking Front Street and found this photo op...I love Forrest Gump!!

Devin has little experience with frogs/toads...so when he saw this little guy hopping across the road, he stopped the car, got out, and chased it down. Had to get a picture of it.
Right before our first scuba dive. We went to 2 places, and I definitely want to get certified.
This was my favorite day of the trip. We drove along the north west coast of Maui, and saw incredibly beautiful sites, went on a great hike, and had a really fun time together in the car.

Can you see me?

At the top of the mountain we hiked we were in the clouds and couldn't see anything.
This was our last day...as we were checking out of our resort and about to return our snorkel gear. We snorkeled a lot, and everytime Devin would say how bad he wanted a picture of me in my gear. So this one was for Devie.
A little welcome hello from our resort...we loved this for some reason.
The very last night we slept in our rental car, at the base of the crater, so that we could wake up and drive the 2 hours to the top to see the sunrise. I was so beside myself in exhaustion...thank you Devin for driving and waking me up to see this! We were above the clouds :)
A restaurant Devin wanted to eat at so bad...pulled pork and rice.
We played A LOT of rummikub on the trip...even as we were waiting to board our Salt Lake bound plane. We loved our trip, and will probably talk about it for a long time to come.
